Who we are
Charlotte Drum Collective (CLT DRUM) is the hub for all things drum set and percussion in the greater Charlotte, North Carolina area.
CLT DRUM provides a community atmosphere offering private online lessons, private in-person lessons, group lessons and masterclasses.
With the catch phrase “REAL pros teaching on REAL drums”, CLT DRUM is staffed with professional drummers committed to education and hand-picked by Al Sergel.
CLT DRUM will begin accepting and scheduling students on August 4, 2025.

MEET THE OWNER

Founder
Al Sergel, the founder and lead instructor at CLT DRUM, is an active educator and performer with a 20 year track record of successful students. He currently teaches at Appalachian State University, Davidson College, Central Piedmont Community College and Queens University.
Having taught students of all ages and playing levels, many of Sergel’s current and former students have received scholarships for college and are professional touring drummers.
